Your book looks like it would be right up your alley. You’ll learn a lot about World War Two bunkers and the American Response to the breadlines of Europe. But you are about to embark on a disturbingly disturbing journey through a world of history.

Great, I was hoping you would be able to answer some of my questions. I need to know some more about the Atlantic Wall project, or the Regelbau program, or something along those lines.

This is not an April Fool’s Day. On April Fool’s Day this article was posted online displaying how WWII anti-tank defences were discovered at Cornish beach. This article is totally legitimate though. The discovery was accidental when storms exposed the bunkers which had totally decayed by 1994. The entrance to one of the bunkers had collapsed due to storms in the area.

The northern part of the Atlantikwall (The Atlantic Wall) was constructed by the Germans during World War II. In 1944, during the Allied invasion of France, the Allies swiftly took Antwerp on the western side of the river. This led to a complete collapse of the Atlantic Wall and it was never retaken.

Thanks for your order. Here’s a quick summary: The Atlantic Wall began construction in September 1939 and was originally known as the Führer-Vernichtungs-Werke or “Führer Extermination Works”. It was renamed to the Siegfried Line and was finally surrendered by Germany in 1945.

“Atlantikwall” is the proper name for this fascinating part of German history. Keep in mind that the Westwall still exists and that many parts of the Westwall still exist today.

The “Atlantikwall” is one of the greatest engineering projects opened up to civilians in modern history. A chain of coastal fortifications completed in 1942. It extended from the North Sea to the Swiss border. The western part, once opened up to civilian use, has been comprehensively rebuilt in the interest of environmental preservation.

The ATLANTIKWALL in Raversyde is one of the best-preserved remains of the German defensive line. The extensive fortifications, built from 1866 to 1870, are situated in a dramatic rock formation and at the site of a former sea cave. The fortifications contributed significantly to France’s failure in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71.
